Stratford is situated in the London Borough of Newham and has become one of the most vibrant and popular destinations in London for young professionals.
It has become the second largest business location (after Canary Wharf) in the East of the Capital.
Stratford is famous for having hosted the majority of the London 2012 Olympics and as such, Stratford has benefited from a complete transformation in the years leading up to the Olympics and has continued to do so afterwards with iconic landmarks such as the large Westfield Shopping Centre, The London Stadium, Stratford Circus and the ArcelorMittal Orbit.
TRANSPORT LINKS:
Stratford (Travelcard zone 2/3) is a major multi-level interchange station serving Stratford, in the London Borough of Newham, East London. It is served by the London Underground, London Overground, Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and is also a National Rail station on the Great Eastern Main Line.
The Elizabeth line is a high-frequency hybrid urban–suburban rail service in London and its suburbs. It runs services on dedicated infrastructure in central London from the Great Western Main Line west of Paddington station to Abbey Wood and via Whitechapel to the Great Eastern Main Line near Stratford; along the Great Western Main Line to Reading and Heathrow Airport in the west; and along the Great Eastern Main Line to Shenfield in the east. The service is named after Queen Elizabeth II, who officially opened the line on 17 May 2022 during her Platinum Jubilee year; passenger services started on 24 May 2022. Despite being named under the same system as London Underground lines, and having sections which are underground, the Elizabeth line is not classified as a London Underground line.

Westfield Stratford City is the largest urban shopping and leisure destination in Europe, offering plenty of high street fashion favourites as well as celebrated home and lifestyle brands. West Ham Park, the largest park in the London Borough of Newham, has been owned and maintained by the City of London Corporation since 1874 and is a Registered Charity. Over a £1m annually is provided by the City of London to support this 77 acre (31.1 hectare) Green Flag award winning space. The Park provides a pleasant and relaxing environment for over one million visitors a year
Discover Children's Story Centre is a fantastic storytelling centre in Stratford East. Story Trails and Garden Trails run frequently and vary from carnival costumes to Capoeira moves, from wizards and witches to pirates or plants.
FUN FACT:
"Robert" the tank engine is a 38 tonne saddle-tank steam locomotive named "Robert" is displayed in Meridian Square, the forecourt of Stratford Station.
This 80-year-old steam-locomotive moved back from his temporary home at the East Anglian Railway Museum.
After years of pigeons, rain and wind left him feeling under the weather, Robert had a new crimson coat and his return was a signal that work to deliver the transport infrastructure required for the London 2012 Games was drawing to a close.
